An NGS gem hidden away in Derbyshire..a vision of 1000 Shades of Green....

Thornbridge Hall

Set in 100acres of parkland, within the heart of the Peak District, there are 12 acres of quintessentially English Gardens surrounding the Hall. Designed in the 1890's, the Gardens were created to produce a vision of '1000 shades of green' from the owners bedroom window and are a perfect example of Victorian engineering to manipulate the landscape into a series of Garden Rooms.

Areas of the Garden include the Italian Garden, Water Garden and Grottos, Koi Lake and 100ft Herbaceous Border, amongst others.  Also housed in the Gardens are statuary from Chatsworth, Clumber, Sydnope Hall, as well as statues gifted to the Hall by the Greek Government.  The current owners have enabled the redevelopment of many areas, including the Kitchen Garden, Scented Terrace, and the stunning Orangery.
